last evening i went to ck the chicks. i saw one of them fall into the water. fortunately it made it back to the tree. no pic tho. went and got the camera and looked up and saw this very near the nest. i asked myself what was wrong with colors on mom. it turns out we were being visited by a little blue heron. same size and looks a lot like the greenbacks but coloring is different.

The blue heron is sure pretty, and the baby looks like he's going to be flying pretty soon. How much fun it's been watching them - thanks so much for continuing to follow them.
