sync cords are expensive. the pentax set at B&H was 108usd a couple years ago. i think promaster makes one for 50usd. don't order this till i get mine and see if it'll do what it should. save the link tho.

The Promaster works fine. I have had one for over a year and used it on both the DS and K10 with no problems.

I just got a used Pentax set (3' coiled cord) from KEH, and it's lighter and more flexible, but works the same. sooner or later I'll get around to building a longer cord (which is what I got this for anyway).

Last time I looked, KEH had another Pentax setup of components used, but their Pentax used inventory changes from minute to minute.

If you got the K10D and either Pentax AF540FGZ or Sigma EF500DG Super you won't need a cord as you can operate wireless

Hi Roy,

I assume that you were asking what I paid. I copied and pasted from the confirming e-mail because I was getting confused swapping screens back and forth.

OFF CAMERA SHOE ADAPTER F (AUTO FOCUS) Grade: Excellent Price: $31.00
HOT SHOE ADAPTER F (AUTO FOCUS) Grade: Excellent Price: $16.00
F5P EXT CORD (AF500FTZ, 400FTZ, AF240FT) Grade: Excellent Price: $17.00

Yours were a better deal, but I was happy with @ 40% off retail.

scott,
i quite agree. that is what i was speaking of. 40% is a great savings off of retail.

received this today. quite a bit of plastic but for 18usd what did i expect. it'll suit me just fine for now. only thing i don't like is that the flash height is not adjustable when you shoot in vertical. recommend it? for the price--yes.

I've been using an ALZO Flip Flash Bracket that I once saw an event photographer use. Been very satisfied with it's compact size, firm grip, adjustable flash height and versatile Camera flip platform...all for about $75. Here is the link if anyone is interested
