this has been going on every sunday for almost 30 years. i've been going since '91. people come and people go but it's still Charli's Acoustics Jam. she's got a great voice and knows how to use it. this is a first for me as i don't normally shoot people. that's her in this shot.

Nice to see some people pictures from you, Roy. Good ones, beginners luck?

I'll have to make you a bit disappointed, though. Tony plays woodwinds as well. The flute is, for some funny reason,a woodwind, even though it is made of metal. This is information I got from my son, who plays flute and recorder (and a lot of other instruments as well, he's heading towards becoming a professional musician). He's very sensitive :Pwhen it comes to this subject.

kjell, i didn't know that. ok, he plays 1 woodwind. maybe more if you include the harmonica.. i'm surprised i got anything. lighting was the pits and DOF at f2.4 makes for some tough focusing.. think i'll try the 200 f3.5 next time.

why is your son sensitive about a calling.. show him this shot of an adult male playing the flute. IIRC, the flute is very difficult to master.

Well, there is a phase in life (teenage) when everything is either right or wrong, large or small, winter or summer. And you can't let a wrong rest in peace...

i'll bet that the flute is a woodwind because originally they were probably made of wood. makes sense to me.

LOL! But you sure can take lovely pictures of those who play instruments. Love this series, they are really wonderful. Isn't it fun to try new things when it comes to photography?

Great shots Roy. Esp when the low light is taken into account.
