With SR.... you want to check the EXIF time stamp within a few seconds, and same exposure..... because of these recent threads just finally thought to do it off and on.

Maybe not fierce, just grumpy at having a 300mm lens pointed in his direction
That's not just any 300mm, that's a 300mm f/2.8... it's no longer a lens, it's a rocket launcher.

...and that guy was just letting you know that he saw you before you blew him to smithereens. :-)

The helmet sticker says Mortal Kombat

This guy always looks like that............. and then he suddenly grins.

Most Timorese have quite determined facial expressions until they smile, sometimes getting a smile is not easy though.

I had been walking for two and half hours about Dili and was about to head into my accomodation when I saw him rocking on his chair and stopped and clicked off 2 shots from about 20 ft away. Just smiled and he smiled back after I got the shots. He knows who I am and has seen me around photographing different people and locations.

that is one serious face
and one steady shot

i have to admit i am liking shake reduction
especially on the long lens, mine doesnt go down to f2.8 so my speeds are slower
i took this one at 1/30 with a 70-320 zoom at 320

not as sharp as i would like it to be
but the weather is miserable and grey
no chance of getting out at all today

enjoy the sun shine

John, I think your shot is even a better example of SR 1/30th and 320mm, excellent.

I think both picturesare excellent - and yes, SR does, indeed, work well for getting lower light pictures. I got convinced of that unexpectedly when I got the K100 and took some comparison shots with the DS and the K100. I wasn't trying to test the SR, thought the shutter speed was (barely)fast enough for the focal length, but the DS showed signs of camera shake while the K100 didn't.
