I finally managed to get my recently purchased (used from ebay) Sigma EX 300mm APO f/2.8 lens. Monster of a thing at 2.4kg, but takes gorgeous images.

Something about having a large lens pointed at you makes you want to stand and pose and smile.

I spent two and a half hours walking the sreets of Dili in Timor the other day, there are elections tomorrow and there is some campaigning going on a lots pf people everywhere.

Getting into the election spirit Timor style.

The Little boy had some friends too. The red stuff in their mouths is Betelnut, they chew it and spit out the juice. It gives them a buzz. Seems very prevalent in the islands from here to the Solomons.

There are a few guys who ride these horses along the beach in front of my accomodation. One of the first shots with the new lens.

Terrific series, a wonderful slice of life, those kids seem so happy and the dogs expression is brilliant.

Hi Crash,

The first 3 are my favorites -- take your pick -- but the dog's expression. . . priceless!

I point my SP300/2.8 at people, and from their expressions, it's as if they think it's a hand-held rocket launcher or a laser canon -- the birds don't seem to mind. . . well, not too much, at least! :-)

I take it that you are liking your new toy? I'm definitely jealous, but torture me -- I want to see more. . .

Beautiful results. Contrast, colour, sharpness, subjects all very good.
Nice one!
