my heron's are fully fledged now. they still hang around but it's still to wet to go out to them.

Crikey, she does actually look angry as well!

Now, why don't we have attractive birds like that in the UK (no doubt someone will list all the intersting birds but all I ever see are ducks and swans!)?

excellent photos of one good looking bird
are they in the duck family
the beak isnt very duck like

we dont get loons over here
(not that i know of at least)

They are not ducks, they eat only fish and can dive under water for long periods of time.
