Like I said Key West is a very similar climate.... maybe a few degrees cooler but just as humid, being a small island surrounded by evaporating water.... this time of year water is probably approaching 85 F air high 80's daytime... about 80 at night. Keep my house at 60.... just enough to dry the air, but not SHOCK going in or out.

(But sure beats the 120 it approached today in Vegas.... and I don't care if it s drey heat that is still darn hot. (Record here is 94 and 90-92 more typical)

And actually now that I think about, I have had it happen, but only to my Telescope, but it lives in the house 24/7 and only out at night when condensation happens much easier as it is nearly or below dewpoint in the winter.... I think thats how many plants survive dry season here.... the dew that settles on them at night.... doesn't really happen in the summer but then it rains plenty.

Also though I keep my camera in a bag... which moderates the temp shift... but have taken out in the yard to shoot things immediately and it still hasn't happen to a camera yet.
