Just visiting or did you get chased off the MALL for the Tornado Warning?

this was actually PRIOR to the tornado watch/warning, we did get chased out for an hour or so until they opened up the security chkpts before the fireworks. I posted a few fireworks shots a few mins back

I heard on the news that they had reopened some of the Museums and other federal buildings around the MALL for people to go into, that's why I was wondering.

Man that Elephant has been there a long time..... I remember it (from hate to say) over 40 years ago.... and it wasn't near new then.

it makes ours look like a not so old house with a few nearly antiques in it

the lighting does look terrific

hayward: yes they did open up a few buildings, the museums, dept of commerce and so forth for shelter, we stuck it out, put on raingear and it wasn't too bad. Plus half a million people trying to cram into a few large buildings would have been pretty stuffy
