Roy I live about 3 miles south of the Tennessee border right in the middle (East to West ) of the state. If you turned East at exit 361 on I-65 and went three miles to the East you would be in the small community of Thach Alabama...That's Thach with one "T". As the Exits go by the mile markers in Alabama, then we are about 361 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and were not affected by Katrina other than torrential downpours.
