Finally got my Tamron tele-converterto go with my Tamron 70-300 & Pentax K10D.

Here is one of my first shots taken today.

Not available in New Zealand so got from B&H in the USA and very satisfied with service.

For their cost they are very nice TC's, with minimal exposure and IQ impact.... have always liked mine mostly used on my Sigma 70-300mm.

Nice shot, I'm hoping to get either the Sigma or Tamron 1.4 for my Sigma 70-300mm DG APO .

Ian, got one, and 2 weeks ago my tamr.70-300 finally got out of repair.
(got a new one after almost 3 months waiting).

The only problem is weather - to dark to use them together but things are looking up. For the few test I've done in the mean time, they work great together.

I'm sure you're going to enjoy it.

Hi Ronny

Great to hear you got your new Tamron 70-300.

Have you tried the !.4 with your 18-200 ?

Although Tamron says only good up to F4.5 mine works with my 400 Sigma which is F5.6.

As you say the light is the big question.

For best feather colour sun behind the photographer seems to be optimal and more so with a teleconverter.

For flight shots I think I prefer to just use the Sigma 400 as to this point in time I find the hunting AF too long with teleconverter unless you can lock on very quickly.

Cheers:Ian Mc
