The socks were twisting and swinging in the wind, the birds were squabbling and fluttering, the llight was lousy, the ISO was high, the pictures are overproccessed --all the reasons in the world not to use a picture, but what the hey . . . . the subject was fun.

Both the birds and the pictures were noisy.

Roy, typically thistle seed. I imagine that's what Penolta has in his "socks" as well.

The processing is pretty good, for the circumstances - I think they are well done. And the subject is definitely fun!

Nice shot. Looks fine to me. Myself, I don't mind some noise in photos. It's more about the moment to me than if there's some grain involved in the final output. I think a lot of times people are too wrapped up with noise issues than the actual photo captured. Sure, the less noise that is in a photo is always desirable, but wouldn'tyou rather have a great moment caught in a grainy picture or nothing at all...cheers..Don

Don't worry about the iso or having to process them to hard.

Its much better than not taking the shot, and they aren't bad either.

Nice job

Yes, Roy, these are thistle seeds, sold commercially for this purpose in pet supply and garden shops. The refillable "socks" are sold both prefilled and empty; seeds are available in bags of several pounds each. They attract Goldfinches and House finches like magnets (but thankfully not English Sparrows). They go throughyour supplieslike Sherman through Georgia, but it's fun to watch the constanthustle and bustle! they consume about onesockful a day - we have three and hang two, changing the empty one for a full one each day and washing the empty one, whichgets dirty.

Thanks all of you for your comments.
