We spent our weeks vacation on Gasparilla Island (Boca Raton) FL. Despite the fact that the entire island is developed, mostly in condominiums, there was a surprising amount of wildlife to be seen. Between sunsets, shells, wildlife, etc, my wife was somewhat miffed at me for bringing back a couple dozen photographs of our children out of 1400 shots taken. Anyhow, here they are, as Roger says, wild and free ranging:

Redshouldered Hawk taken with Tokina 100-300mm f/4 on K100d

Gasparilla Island is covered with (non-native) iguanas. They are currently trying to bring them under control.

For some reason this crab reminded me of a mafia type saying "You want a piece of me, punk?"

This one was not taken on vacation. This morning my neighbor and I canoed out to the property we hunt and refilled the feeder. On the way back we saw five turkeys rejoicing in the fact that they had another few months until hunting season. This one was taken with the Sigma 70-300mm APO, as it is the longest lens I can fit inside a gallon ziplock bag.

Thanks for looking,
Tim

Absolutely captivating series. The compositions are outstanding. The one of the crab: the lighting, sharpness and close-up composition are perfect! Very nice.
