Hi Roy,
the exif waffles for ages so the short version is that wb was set to cloudy, Av varied set between F8 & F13, iso 400, monopod mounted, anti shake on(may have been a mistake but as I said this was the first go at useing this lens and it's a heavy sucker so I thought I'de try it as the pod mounts to the camera as there is no mount on the lens, Manfrotto lens support on order!) shutter speeds about 1500 sec. All settings in camera std except for 1 point sharper. Raw capture, only croped scaled & jpeg coverted. The lens is a 300mm f4 pentax man focus ser#7336425.
( I don't know the web address that tells me when it was made, where it was make or the middle name of the guy who fitted the little white doohickey on the side of the whatchamacallit that controls the thingamebob, in auto only of course! ;-) )
Sorry I waffeled too

Thanks Rodney,
I don't know how things are in the West but if anyone wants to try to get any reasonable auto sport pic's they are going to have to have 1000mm lens' soon, the fences are getting further away from the action and most of the time access to good shooting placers are almost all restricted to "pro" shooters.
