what if we don't want to???

i mean there may be something important here.

underneath that fake facade there could be something mind blowing.

anyway, we already have enough people telling us what we can and cannot do.

I know, I know.

I was at work and trying something when the boss made an appearance.

I was just going to draw people's attention to the front page of this forum. We are still well in the lead with regard to topics and posts.

Just shows what a great group the Pentaxians are.

I go to work at 2:30 my boss goes home at 5:00 so I then am lord and master til 2:30 the next day. Always use someone elses Password to log in then they will get the credit for slacking... That all said...Wass UUUP?? Must be important......Heck the Pentax lens forum is probably in the top ten!!

there's a prob with this and i'm guilty too. the number of topics and posts is irrelevant unless they have some kind of meaning. saying separately ''thanks dude, thanks gal, thank bud, thanks newb, is not relevant but does contribute to the number of posts.. OK,,, flay me alive!!!!!!!

I know what you are saying Roy.

However, even if someone just posts "thanks", or "Good shot", it is still a contribution, because wee are such a friendly bunch.

And a pat on the back is always better than a swift kick in the rear like you can get on other forums. The one thing I've liked about this forum and the Kodak forum here at Steve's is there are no real TROLLS!!! Most folks try to get along and be helpful. I like that! I left DP Review because the admin's were allowing the Trolls Free rein on the Kodak forum there and they were changing and tightening the rules daily it seemed.

No flaying, we are Pentaxians, we do not flay our bretheren. Now, a little flogging might be necessary now and again, but that is different :-). My take is that every internet board/forum/mail list creates its own microculture. In another forum multiple "thank you" posts might be considered ill mannered but I don't think it is true here.

Even posts that do not deal with photography help build the sense of community (generally) and that is certainly one of this boards strengths. And there is plenty of photographic knowledge being shared. I have now been a member of this board for exactly one year. Comparing my efforts a year ago to now I have certainly learned something from hanging out with ya'll.
