Here's another boring shot and if you can figure out where it is and what I was doing there, it will be even more boring!

Looks like the starting pads for swimmers at an olympic sized pool....Either that or the settlement pond at the water treatment plant.

Its actually one of the ticket counters at Logan in Boston. We were waiting for a bus at a little cafe inside the airport.

This forest is for me Mtngal. This is my perch every morning at around 7:00am Central time. Just drinking my morning coffee and waiting for the birds to arrive. Been doing it since 1981.
Mundane? Yes. Very too.
Yet your pict portrays a very peaceful environment of Am south. That gives you perfect start for your next chop job for lens mounts. You have a steady job too considering it is a rarity now

i have been trying to do this for weeks
and it isnt like i dont have a computer full of shots that would suffice

this is a local raven (we call them crows)
a very common bird
this was a test shot
trying focus trap on a moving object with my m42 400mm lens
with apperture priority

John,

A BIF pict is almost impossible with a SM 400mm. Sure you did Av or M mode?

You're right langong....I forgot about teaching her to shoot!!! She can hit a 50 cent piece at 50 yards with a .444 Marlin lever action rifle. And She is only 4'10" and about 100 lbs.

You know, if we can figure out Mrs. Bigdawg's email address, there could be a lot of Pentax lenses for sale, cheap!

most definatly apperture priority (it is in the exif if you have opanda)
that was one reason i liked using the screwmount
i set the f stop to 8 (i think)
and let the hutter speed take care of itself

the crow has been cropped to be off centre
as you have to have the subject in the centre for the focus trap to work

i will agree that birds in flight is hard
something i wouldnt mind mastering
when summer gets here maybe
