I've been feeling really frustrated recently - too impatient about the DA*50-135 and wondering if I'm doing the right thing by sinking so much money into a brand new lens, there's not much blooming anywhere and its hot. So I feel like I've been struggling. Here are a few street scenes from the past week:

He actually was working - he was providing security for a company filming a commercial.

I think they were having a cheerleading camp last week, and there were lots of girls practicing.

Who's having the most fun?:

It's our local Fiesta days this weekend. They don't have many rides this year - last year had far more photo opportunities.

This is my favorite ferris wheel picture because it gives a better idea of just how steep and rugged the terrain is around our small community (Frazier Park is in the Southern California mountains).

Many people who go to the festival bring their dogs:

And then you get people walking other pets:

To great appreciation from the crowd (by the way, this picture was taken with a manual lens and was way overexposed because I forgot to meter. I managed to recover enough of it to be reasonably happy with the shot).

Last one - it's not very good because there was too much in between me and the ride. But I like it because you sure get a feeling of just how much fun these kids are having.

I don't think I'll go back tonight - it didn't look like the rides were going to be interesting after dark.

Lovely series. I bet that cop is hot.
My favourite is the last one, I like the movement and your right you can feel the fun in all of them. Oh, I also just love Dachshunds, my first dog when I was a kid was one, called Heidi.

Harriet, Those are really well done. I think having people in pictures almost always makes them more interesing and the expressions you captured really prove that.
