My vote goes to Rodney's 9 Faces. Great interpretation of the topic!

The votes will probably be all over the place this monthgiven thequality of the images andthe broad interpretations of the subject. I have to go with Keithw's face in the clouds - very imaginative. If you are a fan of Sci-fi's Stargate - SG1, that face should look familiar.

Voting time again

August had more then a few great entries.

Harriet's entry is a great B&W candid.

The warmth of nhmom's grandson is touching

bill.guenthner entry is a great pict on the reflection by itself . Unfortunately not quite as relevant as the others stressing facial expression and eye contact.

Kjell's entry has packed a lot of actions

Tom ( TDN ) image really pops out.

My voties nonetheless goes to Gazanderon for his portrait and his bold use of light. Well placed overexposure and emphasis on the subject's face. The blurred out area is no less stunning.

There are just too many outstanding pictures and they are all so unique. All of the pictures voted on so far are worthy, as are a couple of others.

I love Daniel's portrait of the fashionmodel - it's worth a second or third look.
Old Engineer's dog has the most soulful eyes!
Pete's rafters are havingSO much fun, and the colors of the raft on the water add to the excitement of the picture - this is my second choice picture, but only barely.

Gazander's vineyard picture gets my vote by a nose- like the rafting picture it is the total package I like, color, facial expression, lighting.

Thanks for the super nice comments guys! I just framed as best I could and tried to peg the exposure. The rest is Photoshop slider fun:idea:

On a sidenote, I'm glad it looks OK on your screens. I've got the color management fear ever since some guy on DPR freaked out when i mentioned i didn't own a Spyder2. A lot to be said for these NEC Multisync CRTs...

Hard to choose among so many great entries!

TDN's guy has an amazing expression on his face.

I LOVE Spiritbro77's pic. The movie feel (desaturated and ultracontrasty) really pulls you in, and shows that blown highs aren't a bad thing.

I like Rodney's interpretation. Also kashka has great timing to get that cat mid-yawn.

Daniel's super-tight shot so shows the stilted unnatural poses of the fashion industy.

And of course, Panagioti's pic is incredibly well-executed!

i don't know whom to vote for.

I'll sleep on it

I am shamelessly proud of my decision on the topic. It has drawn out so many outstanding entrys, many of them proving that the best picture isn't always a "good picture" with perfect sharpness and contrast.

I'd like to have ten votes, and I need another day or two to decide where to cast the one I have.

The voting will be closed and the winner announced after Wednesday at midnight, local time where ever you happen to be located. (That means I will count the votes Thursday evening local Swedish time.)
