most lenses shoot their sharpest between f8-16
what lens are you using?

For the two animal shots it was the Sigma 70-300mm APO I picked up a couple months ago.I definitely will experiment and give that range a whirl next time I am out..

on my older copy of this lens i found 260mm to shoot sharper than at 300mm. it's not much.

Mine is the non-APO version and around 260-280 is the best use, and at f8 if it is sunny, although wide open is fine if you focus accurately.



I may invest in the APO version soon though.

Beautiful creatures and sunset both very well taken, Isn't the Sigma 70-300mm APO a great lens, I love mine.
