these could be better if you could isolate the star effect and show the whole tree. i'm not much on the composition of these.

To be honest Roy, I never even thought about composition. I was so pleased at the effect of the sun that I just cropped, resized and posted. My only excuse is that the family were all going "Wow!" which isn't much of an excuse.

But you are right, I ought to consider the whole photo before cropping, etc. After all, what's the point of having 10 megapixels if you end up just cropping (or should that be chopping?) and publishing without really thinking?

Keith, I like them, too. I like the way you got the sun burst effect. Hard to say how the cropping worked since we can't see the original.
