I Walked up behind this critter this afternoon and as my wife says I always do-I poked it with a stick, it was the only way I could get it to spread! I took a couple of shots and then left it alone... It is a hog-nosed snake

Yikes!..I do not know my snakes but he doesn't sound too safe..lol.Nice shot!

Nice demonstration! I don't remember seeing this display. I only recall tham rolling over and playing dead -- belly up. Turn them over and they flip right back; instinct is a funny thing. Nice going.

How cool! I've never seen any of these - only rattlers. And I would never give one of them a poke with a stick!

Nice capture Nick. I havent seen one of those for a long time. I got kicked out of school in the third grade for carrying one to school in my pocked so I could scare the girls. Also got mybutt whipped when I got home.

Nice shot. Snakes are quite beautiful even though they tend to produce the "willies" in most of us.
