I went to a place called "Kasota Prairie" this morning. It gets its name from a specific type of limestone found and quarried there. This area is also a source of fine silica sand which is mined locally by the Unimin company. This area is one of Unimin's restoration projects.

Rick, I like 'em all, but #3 is really interesting. It almost looks like you are looking down on a rocky mountain range. Thanks for posting!

I grew up in Mankato - we had a fireplace made out of stone from Kasota... very cool stuff.
