These were all taken with my Tamron XR 28-200mm, since I was staying in Brussels for a few days and could only take one lens.

I think I've gotten too used to the quality and rectalinearity of my primes... these all don't seem to "pop out" as much as some of my other street shots. They don't have that "3D" effect you get with lenses like the Pentax A 50mm f/1.7 and Jupiter-9 85mm f/2.They also have barrel distortion (look at the stairs!)I'd only recommend this lens as a travel lens. For that purpose, you could do a lot worse. But when you can bring more lenses, I'd use something with less compromises.

None the less I had fun, and these were the ones that I was pleased about:

It might not be as good as a price (what zoom is) but for a ~7x zoom lens, it's pretty impressive. I have had two of them and they make really good walk-around lenses, especially if you can't afford primes or you want to pack light.

Thanks for your inspireing streetshots, Tom.

A friend of mine used some of my Colombia shots from February for a Power Point presentation, and I thought "wow, these are OK!".

I'd like some help though to decide wether a couple of them are better in colour or as BW. Haven't gone into advanced BW conversion (yet), I only used the "take away colours" option in PSE3.

These will be a few posts, since I still haven't pulled up my socks and gotten myself a photo page.

All shot with the Pentax F70-210 lens, most at 210 I think.

Kjell
