The original from the K10D using a 50mm f/2 M lens and no flash. Light is from a window at 45 degrees to the subject. No PP here.

Sharpened, cropped, rotated then used DCE Tools Auto Enhance.

Interesting set of pictures. I think I prefer the original except for the chair of the arm on the left. I probably would have just cropped out the left side a bit, not worried about the lamp and had her legs and chairback in the picture - I like the feeling of "place" it gives the picture. But that's just my opinion - the other two are very nicely done as far as the pp.

I second mtngal. The original is quite nice and the lighting is very good but needs a little crop. The close crop is a little soft for my taste but some people prefer soft portraits.

Thanks guys...You verified my first impression. The crop loses the sharpness and the dynamic skin cleaner gives it a soft focus.

Dawg, nice shot and I concur with Harriet and Bill. That first one really brings out the care free spirit of the little girl. Well done. One interesting observation, I took several photos of my grandson with natural light through a window as you did and it too came out with a somewhat blue cast to it.

Thanks Glenn. The first one untouched is the one I really liked anyway. Just thought to try a different view.

Dawg, I concur with everyone else that I like the first best, but simply because of the composition. You have not only the "carefree spirit" that Lyrics mentioned, but I also like the impression of "Grandpa's big recliner" wrapping around her. It's a great shot.
