Love them BK! You'd love the UK for its fairly wide choice of lighthouses

Lots of lighthouses here in Newfoundland as well, I have only shot a few so far. Nicely composed shots with good lighting, well.done.

Wonderful photos Phil. My wife's favorite subject. Not that we get to shoot any here in North Alabama...But we did make a tour around Lake Mich. just so she could see some! LOL

Lighthouses evoke a feeling of nostalgia for the old seafaring days, and as such are a part of history that deserves preservation in images while still available. A worthwhile hobby, well documented - posting the images lets others far away appreciatre them. Thanks for posting them and keep up the good work.

I hope you don't mind me posting this image in your thread, I just thought you might be interested. If you're ever in Buffalo, NY this is the view from the Buffalo Marina. The lighthouse is still in use and lights up at night (usually, one time I was there and it didn't). I believe it's on a coast guard base so you probably can't get very close unless you get on a boat.

Here are a couple of my more interesting ones from the Point Bonita Lighthouse at the Marin Headlands Northern California (North Side of the Golden Gate Bridge). Couple of notes the one of the tunnel is the tunnel through the mountain you have to walk through to get to the lighthouse. You also have to cross two bridges afterwards. There is also one of the interior of the lighthouse.

I have some old slides and photo's of Nauset Light before they moved it from the cliffs-don't know if you are old enough to remember that. They have lighthouse cruises from Boston's Long Wharf during July & August-you can get some really great shots from the water. Keep posting-they are great.
