sorry , but i've been politely told not to use ebay links to useful items or good deals or anything that concerns $$ in anyway, including non-ebay links...

what this was is a knockoff of the Bogen 3421 gimbal head with a sliding plate. i made him an offer of 75, he accepted it so with shipping if 25 = 100 total. i'll be posting a review when i get it.

just received this. it's a knockoff of the bogen 3421 from india. powers that be will not let me post an ebay link but do a search. offered at 115usd delivered and i made an offer of 100usd delivered which was accepted. try lower. this will work just fine for my use.

pros-- it's cheap. build is too, tho. sets up and balances a long lens well. lateral movement is fine. light weight. seems like it'll work fine for me especially for the price. the long sliding plate will work great for handheld shots with the 300/2.8.

cons-- it's cheap, doesn't look as well built as the bogen. it's painted instead of anodized. the plate where it connects to the tripod only has 1 screw mount(needs two). VERY difficult to lock down the sliding plate but does have 2 other ways to clamp it. vertical movement doesn't seem to be able to lock down(balancing the lens and camera makes this unnecessary)
