Today I went to San Francisco to see the air show. This was my 2nd time going to an air show, the first time was when I was about 15 years ago when I was a little kid. Now this time I was equipped with the gears to catch the actions. I had my Pentax K100D and Sigma 100-300mm lens and another Sigma 28-200mm lens. Most of the shots was taken with the 100-300mm lens. I wish that I had a better quality lens, but the $50 Sigma 100-300mm lens gave me some decent shots.

Shots were resized and some minor PP, but not cropped!

And here is my shot of the day. While everyone had there fancy $5,000 lens, this guy had his trusty cellphone camera!

great shots, the last one proves, if you absolutely cannot live without a picture you will find a way.

These are excellent captures! What ISO setting did you use? I'm a bit of an airplane buff, but haven't made it to an air show lately. I imagine SFO would have made a great back drop to the entire performance!

Couldn't help but crack up on that last one. It reminds me of the Flintstones camera. The heavy rock one with the little woodpecker in it using it's beak to chisle out the picture.

uh oh, i spot some dust on your sensor. but your shots look fantastic! our air show got grounded here for weather and when the blue angels took off, they headed straight for home. guess i'll have to try again next year.

Great shots! The last one is priceless, but the second one is my favorite (and I noticed the dust, too - time for the hand air blower).

Wow I didn't even see the spot until you pointed it out.

Here are more pics

Here is another shot of the formation from the Blue Angles

Here is the big boy

The Blue Angles wasn't the only one playing on in the sky, here is the little red plane

Here is another shot of the photographers. ALL LENS UP AND READY!

(that guy on the left in the blue is an Pentaxian. He was the only other Pentaxian that I notice)

Hey nothing wrong with the Sigma 100-300. I got mine for $50.21 plus shipping....

Actually like it for shots like those...and good shots they are....Didn't notice the spots till the Spot Watch mentioned it!! LOL Now don't go looking at mine cause I'm so lazy a Blue Whale sized spot is the only thing that will make me flip the mirror and blow the sensor offf..!!! LOL

I agree with Dawg. I see nothing wrong with The Shots at alll.( Dust Not withstanding). Our area Airshow was cancelled this year, seems both Airbases were not Available
