I picked a terrible time to try and photograph surfers (sunset). This was the best I could do unfortunately; it was so bad I had to remove the color to make this somewhat interesting.

I can't seem to come up with anything unique this weekend...

Nice sillouette in the first but just not enough of a focus point to have much inerest! Like the waves of the beeach towel but still not an attention grabber! I know how you feel as that is my day every day it seems...
Sigh.....

I like both of these, there's something really calming about the first one, and I love the texture of the sand and towel. We had originally planned on visiting that pier today, but yesterday's drive to a friend's party convinced me that today was a day to stay home.

I checked the surf report early, and saw that the beaches were going to get some overhead waves. After yesterday's boring photos, thought I'd give my Tokina lens another shot at action. This time I positioned myself back up at the pier, and got some decent shots. I think these shots finally demonstrate the quality of the lens to me, although the late morning light was harsh. I was worried about soft images, but I think the SR caused those. These images were taken explicitly with SR off.

Now if I could find another use for this lens...

Wow! Very nice! That second one is outstanding - you are making me regret not going today (always another day).

Your silhouette shot has a melancholy about it of summers long gone and the surf shots are just amazing.
