I picked up my new Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 lens from UPS today and thought this will be a good place to brag about it:-)

This thing is wide! Here are just a few snaps with it.

At 10mm F8:

From the same vintage point at the loooong 20mm end:

One more at 10mm:

Congratulations, an extreme wide angle is on my wish list. The 10mm end is not as fish eyed as I would expect and the 20mm looks very normal. How close does it focus?

It focuses really close: maybe 2-3 inches from the front of the lens (the specs says 9.4" or 24cm from the plane).

Part of the distortions at 10mm are due to misalignment in the frame. At such an wide angle if things are not aligned right they simply get exacerbated. I am yet to learn on how to use this lens properly.

I uploaded some snaps from Halloween while visiting a friend. Many taken at high ISO with K100D and eyeball noise reduction applied with Silkypix (too much applied and gets everything soft). When I have time I will have to process them in Photoshop properly.
