Love the lighting in that picture - there's something about the desert at sunrise/sunset that's attractive. I wondered if you would spend the night in Ely - I know someone who often goes back and forth between SLC and the Bay area, and they always seem to overnight there. It always sounded like a way-out-of-the-way kind of place though. Glad to see that the Pathfinder is doing well.

Then there was Utah-The Great Salt Flats!

Then off to Wyoming and a tunnel through the rock at Green River.

Then some Wildlife in Wyoming.

And a beautiful Sunset in Wyoming!

Enjoy!

Nebraska, home of Cabelas Outdoor Store

Pioneer Village in Nebraska with a bridge over the freeway.

Iowa was all at night, so no images.

Finally Minnesota!

Cool shots! Your pictures of Wyoming are wonderful, makes me want to leave grey California and go visit right now. There's a Cabelas in Lehi, Utahand we were driving bywhen they were holding their opening weekend. Now that's one cool store - I could have spent a fortune in it! Glad to see that the trip wasn't wasted when it comes to photography, and the Pathfinder made it without problems.

I did purchase some items at the store, but there is one back home also, so I kept my wallet under control for the most part. The Pathfinder is 18 years old, but still gets the job done, although a 2,100 mile test drive is always a crap shoot.

Got home just in time for the cold weather, but at least so far, no snow!

Wonderful images. Especially of Wyoming. I love them.

Glad you made it home safe and sound. I've been watching your other images, too.

18 years old! What's the mileage? I have a Nissan Maxima that will be 13 next month with 238,000 miles on it. Hoping I can make it through the winter and then get a new car. I'd love one now. But, my husband's theory is as long as it's still running we keep it! It's been, and still is, a great car. Actually, my car is in the best shape of the four cars in my home. And, it's the oldest!

Don't forget to winterize that California car. It's probably set up for hot weather operation more than cold weather (as in, the windshield wiper fluid will freeze - believe me, I KNOW). As soon as I mentioned to my other half about you buying it in California, he said, "smart move, no rust."
