There's just something about back or side lit leaves that I find hard and frustrating. My pictures never quite work out or look as good as the real thing does for some reason, and I can never quite figure out why. This one is better than most of my attempts - the color is very nice. But I do know what you mean.

P.S. - it might be a bit soft, but I'm not even too sure about that.

Backlighting with a high sun angle may be one of the hardest conditions to work with. I think the problem with this picture is the wide variation of lighting on the different leaves - it is visually confusing, but not boring because it makes you study it to figure it out.

The lighting is marvelous, its not boring but I mis something to keep my interest.

I would keep it and use it for some serious photoshop work later.

So I like it but ... not as it is now.

Just my 2c.

So it's not just me that thinks "That looks interesting, I'll take a photo of that" and then can't decide.

As my exhibit, a photo taken while walking in the Chilterns last month. The sun was shining, the trees were changing colour and I took this:

LOL! I've often tried tocapture that feeling of sadness I feel at the end of summer, whenever I see the dying weeds. However, every time I've tried to take a picture of those faded weeds, then looked at them on the monitor I've always thought "yuck." I've finally given up trying it because it just doesn't work for me. Dead leaves about to fall off of a tree is a totally different matter and I've had some really good success with them.

I would say nowhere near the boring thread in this forum. Difficult to make it interesting given the back light and likely softness of the lens?
