this is actually from qualifying, the day before the race
i wanted to beat the crowds
all photos were with an old 400mm screwmount lens on my K10D

going straight up after take off

one and a half kilometers away

take off

going past the city

negotiating the course

there are more here http://www.johndolphin.net/photos/ca....php?cat_id=55
not all are taken with the 400 and some are with the (broken) DS

Neat shots John and what a neat opportunity to get some photos. I think I like your take-off shot the best, but if you did not know it was "supposed" to be doing that you would assume that plane was in real trouble.

I like 3 and 4 the best but they are all good.

Some day I will get to one of these.

Great shots... I really like No. 4. You are very talented with an all-manual system...

sgarthee if you can get to one i would recommended it as a photo opportunity, i did go the day before the race and took photos of qualifying
i didnt want to fight the crowds

i dont feel i can take all the credit for the shots Nick, the antishake in the K10D really helped, and of course you dont get to see all the binned ones
lol

thanks for taking a look
