I have decided I am going to have two different wildlife set ups available in my camera wagon so I can be better prepared in different conditions.

I have and will continue using my K10D and my BIGMA.

The new set up.

Enough back and forth and trying to make a decision. On Sunday I click order on the Adorama site. I have made some changes to my original wish list. Adorama has assured me the new camera will be one with the fix and the newest firmware. I am ordering on Sunday so I hope to have everything by the end of the week. My guess is this will be a big learning curve but the good thing about that is I have to be out in the woods to learn how to use it.

My 65th Birthday gift to me. Wish me luck.

Sounds expensive...The wife would kill me if I had two cameras and all the lens and accsessories I needed...(Needed not wanted) She'd kill me then burn the bones if I got all I wanted! LOL

Rogers,

I can see your reason to get the better equipment the key of which is the 1dMkIII & 500mmF4 . Pentax has just no effective equivalent at all. Luckily I am not a full blown wildlife shooter like you and I can still hold up the sort of urge to click this and that. Well at least until next spring. The new Nikon D300 is another consideration. Look forward to seeing some of your new wildlife images

Thanks Daniel, all my re-search told me the same thing your saying. Thanks again. I image it will be a while before I get any keepers with the new set up. I go to learn how to turn it on then how to use it.

see ya rog,
but if you're going to change, i think you should consider the new 4.5 format by Hasselblad!!
of course it's listed at $43,000...
but what the hay, it's a 39meg cam?? the CC will cover it......for sure..

I am not giving up on Pentax I just want two sets ups available in the camera wagon so I can choose the one I want for the conditions.
