Now that it is cold and the river is freezing up the adult Eagles soar above open water and look for fish. This immature Eagle decided flying is too much work and just sat by a hole in the ice until a fish came up and there was lunch.

Good thing he isn't too heavy and can fly if needed. That ice doesn't look too solid there yet!

It was about 20F and after a while my WB started to not function properly and blow out all the white areas. My battery in my K10D worked better in the cold than the AA's in my DS do.

FWIW here is a pretty severe crop of the same photo, which isn't too bad for a 6MP camera and a image shot in jpg.
