Got the new to me M-50mm 1:1.7 today and gave it a short test on the cloudy sky! Not too Bad I'd say.

Dawg. I agree. They do a great job, especially in low light. I have the 28, 50 and the 80-200. All manual from my ME and ME Super days. I find they do a better job than my kit lens's not that i have a problem with them. I dont but i guess you get what you pay for and the 80-200 was $375 about 30 years ago. Have a great christmas Dawg. Cheers Keith

dawg, i've the same as keith but my 50 is a 1.4. i think it cost me an extra 100 bucks when i got it. also the M80-200/4.5 is about the most underrated lens around.. BUT, the A70-210/4 is a better lens even at twice the weight...

It is a great lens Dawg. I have the M, A, and F versions and I have no complaints about any of them.

The 1.7 is a great lens no matte which one you get, but I still have a soft spot for the 1.4 which seems to be just as sharp at 2 and has a bit more contrast.

The 50mm 1.7 M and A versions are some of the best deals around on an amazing lens.
