An old 21" Phillips CRT, 1152 X 864....But after reading all the others I may change it now to 1280 X 1024.....Yes that's pretty good......Now the refresh rate....Ah yes 82. I like that...I've not had to scroll hardly at all with the old one as I use a Firefox plugin that auto resizes the photos to fit the screen. Shouldn't be any different now! Your video card makes a big difference in how the monitor can handle the different resolutions and refresh rates. I'm running a ATI Radeon Express 200 with 512mb of memory!

I use two 17 inch monitors set at 1152x864

I used to have a 21 inch monitor but I have discovered I like working with two smaller ones better.

I very rarely need to scroll sideways to view a page but it is anoying when it happens. I have been thinking about getting one of those mouses that has a tilting scroll wheel so you can scroll sideways quickly.

Currently have a Samsung19" LCD. Set to 1280 x 1024. I usually don't have to scroll to see things. On the biweekly challenge forum we have a limit of "800 pixels on the long dimension".

When considering your picture size for posting you also have to consider the board's software itself. Space is wasted on margins and column widths. The "Author" column is too wide if you ask me. It has to be more than 25% of the available column space. That's space that could be used for the "Post" column.

Xerox XM3-22WB @ 1440 X 900 Res on my main PC never need to scroll with this.

Samtron 17" @ 1024 X 768 Res with and a cheap 15" LCD @ 1024 X 768 for the PS tools & palettes.
Very rarely use this one on the net, so haven't noticed a need to scroll

Drool!!!

Sorry, back to real life - I have a 17" LCD but it's set to 1280 * 1024.

Hi Roy,

Samsung 17" LCD 710n, 1280x1024 and No, I don't have to scroll.

14" Screen on my laptop, 1024x768 and Sometime I have to scroll.

I have been looking at a Soyo Dual 17" monitor. It has two monitors on one stand
