One of my favourite sayings:

If a messy desk bears witness of a messy brain, what does an empty desk bear witness of?:blah:

At work I have to use that saying a little too often in self defence...

Kjell
A brain ready and capable of receiving new ideas and concepts??? Naw I'd know when someone was calling me empty headed......I think my main problem is I live too close to the "State" of Georgia!!! LOL That'll suck the neatness right out of you!! At least Texas ain't too close!! LOL

my ''study'' is 10x10' room,,it's got all the computer stuff in it, 2 monitors, 2 printers, four other wall mounted shelves. a 3' high filing cabinet, ebay boxes galore,a floor to ceiling 4' book case, a 3x5' drafting table that always horizontal and all my photog gear!!!. it's the darn drafting table's fault.. there's just WAY TO MUCH EXPANSE not to have 3 or 4 projects going at the same time... forget the closet!!!

on the slob's road forever,
roy
What's the drafting table for anyway....I need to introduce you to AutoCad!! Now that would be something to try to sell on Ebay....A new draftsman coming out of school ...Take one look at it and ask....Is thet thar a flipper table?? LOL

Dawg, welcome to SA! Slobs Anonymous...my name is Ron & I'm a slob! Admitting that you're a slob is half of the problem! :GDon't feel bad, I spent $400 on a new desk to keep all the equipment, gear, pictures, & frames on. Now, at last count, I've got 8 boxes full of framed enlargements, etc. piled on & under the desk & I can't sit at it. BUT...it's still better than before the desk purchase.

Good luck with the resolution but I figure that if that's all my loving wife has to complain about me...she's doing good!

Ron

That is only one thing on my wife's list....But she has had 41 years to make the list up....I think it is still full....I'm an obstinate ole Dawg.

Hi Guys,

I knew there was a reason I liked it here -- kindred spirits I'd say. . .:-).

I'm constantly finding little forgotten gems amongst the clutter, so for me, it's a good thing -- kinda like 24/7 365 Christmas!.

However, I've recently made an effort to organize my gear using a couple of those 3-drawer plastic storage units (I figured that I wouldn't spend too much money on this project since it's unlikely to change 57 years of mentally organized chaos). Everything except the multitudes of bags I've collected fits, and until I take something out to actually use it, it's very organized, but it's a PIA to keep it that way, so I'm thinking that this is just a phase that I'll eventually get over. . ..

Scott
I've got a 60X36 computer table 2 3X6 book shelves a 4ft. X 30" desk with 4 drawers a 4 drawer file cabinet and a plastic stackon set of 7 big drawers a waste basket and 3 aluminum cases for my lenses.....And nowhere to put anything...They were full years ago.....I haven't been cured of the sloppieness yet so maybe it is a Genetic thing brought on by living too close to Georgia!! Huh!!

Roger...that's one resolution that we are all looking forward to you keeping! If 2008 is anything near as good as your keepers for 07...it's gonna be a good year!

Keep 'em coming!

The slobs among you should be ashamed of yourselves

Some or most of you are very lucky to have a room to yourselves as our spare room is an office for the wife and we only have a small house. So i have always had to make do with a 12oomm high book shelf and a small cabinet for my camera gear. Needless to say i have to keep it tidy and have got a few dvd filing boxes which i use for storing everything. Makes life so much easier when i am looking for a lens or filter so learn from the master Dawg and avoid the frustration of not knowing where your gear is :-)
