Ira - The western USA is right in the middle of a majorstorm right now. It's snowing hard here at the moment and I just heard on the news that some parts of California will get upto 10 feet before it is over. I suspect we will have about a foot on the ground by the end of today here. I think we are all glad for the snow pack in the mountains as it has been dry here in theWestfor some time now - Bruce

Winter at its best! How much snowfall to-date? Great exposures on the snow!

Wow! That's SNOW! I like snow, but in smaller doses than that. Right now I'm listening to the wind howl around the house and the rain lashing down. We need all the rain we can get, but I wish some of this wet stuff would fall as snow since it would melt and soak into the ground, rather than flooding the streets and causing mud flows.

Ira, great shots of the snow, but, like Roy, I can't conceive of those kinds of snows. Twelve inches of snow is a lifetime event in this area (for me, twice, 1962 & 1988.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Ed, I love your cotton gin! Were you in Alabama for the Christmas snowfall in 1962? I was in Sheffield visiting my father when it hit....16 inches in the Tri-cities.
