My "old" Olympus Z4040 has got this feature: Connecting it to a TV will render same a "viewfinder"; to say: The video signal is there all the time, not in playback mode only.
Do the named Pentax dSLR feature this, too?

I'm pretty sure they don't, but I'm not certain on that.

i would expect the new models with "live view" will have this capability.

Only the ones with live view though, because you're looking straight trough the lens with the other ones

On a sidenote, why would you want this? It's not like you can bring a TV out for a walk...

Has anyone played with the Pentax remote software? I downloaded it but haven't played with trying to do tethered shooting. I'm not quite sure how it works, but this would be the closest I think you could get to using a TV to instantly view photos - and I know it doesn't work as a viewfinder (as was pointed out, to record an image on the sensor the mirror has to move out of the way, since the viewfinder is a reflection of the image coming through the lens).
