Last Sunday was the annual Blessing of the fishing "fleet" that sails out of Frankston. While there is no real fishing fleet, that doesn't stop the local Greek community getting together.

I'm not intimatly familiar with the whole proceedure, but it goes something like this.

Much praying and singing, in Greek of coarse,

Then the fleet is blessed so all who sail will return safely .... then as a special a wooden cross is thrown into the water and thoeds wishing for that little extra help dive in to retrieve it ....

That looks like a cool festival. But, I wouldn't want to be out on that pier!
