Forgive me if this is an old question being answered for the umpteenth time:roll:. I am new. I understand that K and KA mounts can be used on Pentax digital SLR's but I don't understand how. Is there and adapter available? What and where would I obtain such a thing? Thanks

welcome to the board ned.. have you read the owners manual???
it's all in there. you can d/l from pentax also. no adapters needed for K mounts and the KA is fully auto just like the kit lens. if you need more info just ask.

The only adaptor you may need is for older screw mount (M42) lenses.

For KA lenses - just put them on the camera same as any lens. For K lenses, there's a setting in the custom menu that you have to change to use them. Then mount, set the aperture on the lens, use M mode, set the shutter speed on the camera (or use the green button or the AE-L button, depending on the camera, to have the camera temporarily stop down the lens and let the camera meter), focus and shoot.
