Nice series Eddie, I like thethis last set. Is this a Heron? if so, do they migrate? We get some grey herons up here in Western NY during the summer, but I think they go south for the winter. What lens were you using? and thanks for posting.

Thanks man. Yes, it's a Great Blue Heron. Taken with Sigma APO 70-300mm.

Eddie, I like the first one best. Not quite sure why, but I guess its because of the composition. All are nice though!

Eddie,

Wow!! I can recall when you first started out with this birdie thing. Stunning pictures.

I have to wait for those herons to be back in a few months time

The great blue, stalking its prey, nice shots. And me, I am stuck here without a camera until at least thursday it seems. and 4 miles away is the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.

This is the last picture I got of something stalking its prey with the K100 and the Tamron 70-300. Unfortunately I do believe the prey was me.

Quick note to self: stay out of Florida swamps, "Let's do lunch" may have nasty connotations there.

Great shot, at 300mm I hope!
