I haven't posted much here since getting my K100D Super a couple of months ago, but there isn't much to photograph around here in the winter really.

I went over to the LSU campus last Sunday to visit our mascot Mike VI with the hope of getting some pictures of him. He's a 2 year old Siberian-Bengal tiger mix. The last couple of times I went he was sleeping in a corner (he's a cat, so I guess that's expected). This time he was awake and posing for everyone who came to visit him. Maybe he's still energized by the butt-whoopin' our football team put on Ohio State in the National Championship game last week!!!
I got quite a few good shots of him despite having to shoot through two fences. The lens used is an old Sears branded 70-210mm f/4 that I found on eBay for about $15.00 shipped. It's a little soft at full zoom, but with a bit of PP, I think the results ended up pretty good.

More info on the history of Mike here.

BTW I heard they passed a law in Ohio that now prohibits the Ohio State teams from venturing south of the mason dixon line, Congrats to the tigers for keeping up the SEC tradition of whomping them good.
