Based off what I've learned in school, that procedure is fairly easy to accomplish. I'm sure you'll make a full recovery. As a biomedical engineer, the biodegradable fixation screw is something that interests me. It makes me glad seeing stuff I've learned being applied clinically.

At least you'll have a story to share (or make up) if anyone asks about the scar.

I would say break a leg, but I think you did enough for one day.
Get well soon!

gawd tom!!
i doubt the surgery will anywhere near what it felt like when it happened!!!
something funny about me perhaps to brighten your day. years ago i needed wrist surgery.. i opted to stay awakeso they completely killed my arm from the elbow down.. well it didn't kill my bicep muscle but did kill the tricep muscle.. in recovery i wanted to look at the bandage. i was on my back and the arm was laying on the bed so i raised it up to get a view.. all was well...... until i crossed the 90degree angle when gravity took over and my hand fell dead center on my face.. remember-- no tricep. i literaly had to pick my right hand off my face with my left hand..

Hi Tom,

Best wishes for a successful surgery and quick recovery. The good news is that you didn't have a camera in your hand when you fell. . . :-) -- Sorry, I couldn't help myself!

Best wishes and a welcome back when you wake up after surgery (or are you going to be awake to watch the show?:O)
