Looking for suggestions on best method to catch birds in air.

* I use continuous focus for Panning

* F8 to F11 to give some depth of field

* ISO 400 to 800 to give speed with smaller aperture

* Multi focus for clear sky, Center focus for congested background

* 400mm to 600mm Lens (600 using teleconverter 1.5X)

* Loads of patience.

I welcome your ideas.

Are you turning off SR. It is supposed to be off for paning shots. I just asked because you didn't mention it.

These are actually looking pretty darned good, Ed. I am convinced that practice is thedetermining factor. At least you had some decent light.
