Hi there,
I finally did it and tested my idea to do some close-up photos, if you are interested, please head over to this thread:

Very easy setup, but since I liked the results I thought I share. Enjoy!

Thank you and sorry,

I was waiting to answer because I thought I'd be able to do some more shots and would have done one from the setup too... but didn't have had any time last week

So basically this is a picture frame with the glass plate up. Below the glass plate is a black piece of paper. (they sometimes come with the picture frames, and so did this one).

I then placed a black folder in the background and hung one of the pocket lamps over the table ina way, that the spot was shining onto the picture frame. Then I mounted my camera on the tripod, placed something at that light spot and moved it around to get a feeling for light and angle.

If I felt it was necessary I added another pocket lamp just by placing it on the table and pointing towards the target.

No other tripods or things used.

I was shooting in A or M mode and mostly underexposed because camera metering resulted in blown out highlights.

I'll do more shots in the feature and can add pictures of the setup - but not now, sorry.

Hope that helps,
Th.
