Hi Tom,

Great shot!

My best shots of Downy WPs have pretty much been at feeders. They're a lot more difficult to capture in their natural environs, when not captivated by the suet.

I know this one never stopped moving and it was a real project getting a clear shot of it. I am not sure how they eat when they are always moving.

I felt real good when I finally got a couple of open shots.

This is a very nice woodpecker! My attempts at these birds usually end up showing lots of bark with the bird long-gone. We get the occasional white headed woodpecker around here, but I have yet to manage a picture yet - even of the one that very briefly landed on the tree not more than 5 feet from my window.
