The weather around here has been pretty 'blah' lately so there isn't much to shoot. Seagulls are always cooperative. Not the prettiest of subjects, but they're all I've got right now and they don't seem to mind posing for photos.Until the flowers start to blom and there's some great out there, this will have to do.

These were taken with a Tamron-F 135mm/F2.8 BBAR lens.

Very good use of Depth of Field in #s 2, 3, & 4--makes for great composition.

Love the title of your thread:lol:

BTW, where on L.I. are you? I have family on the East End (Shelter Island), and my wife grew up in Westbury.

Very nice, I like 2 and 3 best, nice balance and great control of DOF.

Thanks! I'm in Western Suffolk (South Shore) about half way between Westbury and Shelter Island. Actually, I'm closer to Westbury than I am to the land out east...

Really like #2! Gulls might not be the most glamorous bird in the world, but they are certainly cooperative when it comes to photography.

Gulls are always fun to shoot, Ring billed Gulls I think enjoy being photographed, they always come flying around me when I get the camera out at my favorite gull spot. I like #2 the best, but there all great.

I like #2 a lot. Looks like these were taken on Great South Bay. I grew up on LI and lived there through college. I had some great times sailing on the bay and sound. Thanks for sharing.

Actually I think Gulls are pretty. Soft white and grey with a little black mixed in for good measure, all of which you managed to get beautifully. #2 and #3 aremy favorites, but I like them all. Ifgulls weren't so common and didn't eat garbage, we would probably appreciate them a lot more!

Thanks! Here are a few more that were taken today, this time with the SMC Takumar 135/3.5.

I've been trying to figure out which of the 135mm lenses I'm going to keep. Based on this very limited testing, I've decided to keep them both!
