A group from our American school here in Germany spent some time in the Alps, Adelboden to be exact, this past week. It was magnificent weather and great snow for skiing and sledding. Wish you all could have been there. Here are afew shots. This first one was on the first day when it was snowing quite heavily. Dad and son going home.

The next is from the sled run.

Here is a shot of the misty mountains.

A Mom, daughter and son chasing Dad who has already gone by!

And finally a cat who was heading to the warmth of his house just below.

Hope you enjoy them. There are a few more at http://picasaweb.google.com/glenn2sh...lbodenSpring08

Beautiful images...I've added it to my list of places to visit during my life time! I think you have captured the ambience of the sorrounudings very well. Love the one of the cat heading for home!

Thanks, Jay. I really feel lucky to be living this close to such an incredible place. Its a great place to visit, but the wallet gets real thin real fast!

Hi Glenn,

This is a terrific series. But truth be told, I've seen enough snow in the last few months to hold me until at least Dec. :-). Being from a very flat part of the US, those sled runs are just unimaginable!

My favorite is the shot of the cat -- with it's rear feet flat on surface of the snow, it looks like it's skiing as well . Nothing like hitting the shutter at just the right moment!

Thanks, Scott. He started on a patch of grass and when he finally got up the courage, took as few leaps as he could to get to the cat door in the house. I just followed him and fired as he went. I wish I had thought to put it on burst mode, but probably if I had taken the time to do it I would have missed it all together!

I really like the third one - you can almost feel those low clouds swirling around you.

Great shots Glenn.

I really like the sled run and the moody mountain vista.

Living in Florida, we don't get much snow but I used to live in the mountain west of the US and sometimes miss the snow till I remember what it's like after a few months of it.
