This was in response to your "dirty snow" photo. I hit the wrong reply button!

Monza76,

It may not be an attractive sight but this is certainly an attractive photo!

What a varied and eclectic assortment of shots! I agree it is going to be very difficult to pick just one.

I wasn't totally happy with my picture. We had an April snow last night and I was able to take this shot this morning before it all melted (tomorrow will be in the high 60s!).

Daniel,

Us retired folks can't understand why people can't do what they want when they want! Although I haven't been retired so long that I don't appreciate how work constantly gets in the way of what is really important. This morning I was out in my back yard taking a picture for this month's entry about 8:30. Needless to say a year ago I would have left for the office at least 2 1/2 hours prior to that.

Mike

I'm having a blast so far seeing texture shots everywhere! The only problem I'm having is deciding which one to post. So for now, this is my entry. It doesn't really matter what it is, exactly. But if you are interested, it's part of a very rusty wreck of a van that's been on national forest property for at least 10 years, and probably more.

May I play, too? I think looking at all the textures is neat.

This little fella bonked his head pretty good on a window. I snapped a few pics and then stopped... I felt bad for him, so I just sort of watched over him for a while, put a bowl of water nearby and left him alone, made sure no other birdscame by to bother him. After a while he hopped along and then glided from the deck to a nearby shrub.

I wish I had checked the ISO prior to shooting - it was set at 1600. Also wished I had selected a smaller aperture...

So many great shots already this month that I almost hesitate to post, but I kind of liked this shot I got tonight in a school bus going through a rain storm with the texture of the rivulets of rain flowing down the bus window and highlighted by the lights of the on-coming car. (and no, I wasn't driving the bus, lol)

That bird is wonderful, you can almost feel the feathers. And I love the rainy window - glad it's there, not here though.

MtnGal,

That rust is what I was thinking of when I said palpable. I can feel it!

Texture(s) around the house - at the risk of being wimpy. I'm not the decorator.
