This was taken yesterday. I saw the sun shining through the window on one just flower in a bouquet. By the time I got the camera out, it had moved to this flower. I forgot to set the lens to macro. Probably would have come out better. What do you think?

I'm also working on my new laptop and don't have all my plugins installed yet in PSE. Would like to have run Neat Image on it.

After posting I'm seeing some pixelating in some of the petals. Will have to try resizing again.

I like how the bouquet is against the black background - it creates a dramatic effect.

I think the photo would be more striking if one bloom were isolated. The closed blooms detract from the photo; there's no clear focal point for the eye. Also, tighter focus would eliminate the blown highlights in the further petals.

I think it's very well composed, and the lighting gives a dramatic yet pleasing effect.

Thanks for the info brokenbokeh and kjell. I agree now that I'm looking at it in daylight and on my desktop 19" monitor. The photo's still on the other computer and not networked yet. I'll play around with it some more. And, now that the sun's out I'll try some more shots.

The black background is actually the glass of the fireplace screen. I think that's what I liked best about the photo was the color on the black.
